A firewood log rack bracket is a paired metal fixing that lets you build a log store of any length using two timber posts at each end. Each bracket holds the vertical uprights and the horizontal base rails, so the stack sits off the ground for airflow and drying. You simply add longer or additional timber to extend the rack.

Most firewood log rack brackets are designed for standard square timber, typically 40×40 mm to 50×50 mm uprights slotted into the bracket sockets. The distance between the two bracket ends is set by the length of base timber you cut, so you control the rack width. Check the socket dimensions against your chosen timber before buying.

Yes, log rack brackets are typically made from galvanised steel so they resist rust and can stay outdoors year-round. The zinc coating protects against moisture from rain and damp firewood, making them suitable for permanent garden or yard log stores. For coastal or very exposed sites, look for hot-dip galvanised or thicker-gauge steel.

You install log rack brackets by screwing them onto cut lengths of timber to form the base and uprights at each end of the stack. Fix the base rails first so the rack sits level and off the ground, then secure the vertical posts into the bracket sockets. No concrete is needed; the loaded weight of the firewood helps hold the free-standing rack in place.

A pair of firewood log rack brackets typically supports a full-length, chest-high stack of seasoned logs when fixed to sound timber, with the load spread along the base rails. Screws are not always supplied, so check the product details; the GeZu Impex range uses galvanised steel brackets sized for standard garden timber. Use exterior-grade screws rated for the timber section.
