What is a scaffold debris net used for?

A scaffold debris net is a fine-mesh netting fixed to scaffolding to contain falling dust, debris and small materials, improving site safety and reducing nuisance to passers-by. It also cuts wind and gives visual screening, and is cable-tied or bungee-fixed to the scaffold tubes and boards.

What size do scaffold nets and tarpaulins come in?

Scaffold debris nets are commonly supplied in rolls or sheets around 2 m wide by 20–50 m long, while tarpaulins come in graded sheet sizes with reinforced eyelets. Choose a width to match your scaffold lift height and overlap adjacent sheets to give continuous coverage.

Are tarpaulins waterproof and UV resistant?

Heavy-duty tarpaulins are made from woven polyethylene (PE) with a laminated coating, making them waterproof and UV-stabilised for outdoor use. Weight typically ranges from about 80 to 260 g/m², with higher grammages giving greater tear strength for longer-term protection.

How do you attach debris netting to scaffolding?

Debris netting is attached by threading cable ties, bungee ties or rope through the reinforced border eyelets and around the scaffold standards and ledgers at regular intervals. Fix every eyelet and tension the net evenly so wind load is spread and the mesh stays flat against the frame.

Do scaffold nets have reinforced edges and eyelets?

Most scaffold debris nets have a reinforced, stitched border with integral eyelets or tie loops for secure fixing, and fire-retardant grades are available. GeZu Impex supplies nets and tarpaulins with the edge reinforcement noted per product; cable ties and bungees are usually purchased separately.
