A screw-in parasol ground anchor is a spiral steel spike that twists into the ground to create a solid socket for a parasol or pole. You rotate it into soil or grass by hand using the bar or handle, then drop the umbrella pole into the sleeve at the top. It holds the parasol upright without a heavy weighted base.

Parasol ground anchors typically accept pole diameters of around 25 to 48 mm, with the sleeve or reducing inserts adapting to the umbrella shaft. Measure your parasol pole across its widest point and match it to the sleeve's internal diameter. Some models include packing or a grub screw to grip narrower poles securely.

Yes, parasol ground anchors are generally made from galvanised steel, so the zinc layer protects the spike against rust while it stays buried in damp soil. This makes them suitable for leaving in the ground across the season and reusing year after year. Rinsing off soil before winter storage further extends their life.

You install a parasol ground anchor by pushing the point into the chosen spot and turning it clockwise until only the sleeve sits above ground. Use the cross-bar, a screwdriver shaft or bar through the eyelet for leverage, keeping it vertical as it bites. In hard or stony ground, loosen the soil or pre-water it first so the helix drives in cleanly.

Besides parasols, a screw-in ground anchor can steady rotary washing lines, bird feeders, small flag poles, sail shade poles and other slim vertical posts. The universal sleeve accepts a range of pole diameters, making it a versatile garden fixing. The GeZu Impex range is galvanised steel and installs by hand without concrete or tools.
