A 2-way pergola connector is an L-shaped bracket that joins two timber beams or a post and beam at a 90° corner. It is used at the outer corners of a pergola, gazebo, carport or timber frame where two members meet in an L. The connector aligns and reinforces the corner joint so the structure stays square and rigid.

Two-way pergola connectors are sized to fit standard square timber, most commonly 70×70 mm, 90×90 mm and 100×100 mm posts and matching beams. The bracket's internal width should match the timber cross-section so the members seat fully. Measure your posts and beams first, as connectors are made in size-specific versions.

Yes, 2-way pergola connectors are typically made from galvanised steel, which resists rust and suits outdoor pergolas and garden structures. The zinc coating protects the bracket from rain and frost for long-term exposure. Some ranges also offer a black powder-coated finish for a discreet decorative look.

A 2-way pergola connector is fitted by slotting the timber post and beam into the bracket and fixing through the pre-drilled holes with coach screws or bolts. Position the connector at the corner, drill pilot holes into the timber, then drive the screws to lock both members together. Fixing through every hole gives the strongest, most rigid corner joint.

This depends on the model — some 2-way pergola connectors are supplied with the coach screws or bolts needed to fix them, while others are sold as the bracket only. The product description states whether fixings are included and the recommended screw size. GeZu Impex lists pack contents for each connector so you can add matching screws to your order if needed.
